newsboat - An RSS feed reader in the terminal. Useful for replacing "Likes", "Follows", "Friends", and "Subscriptions" on web2.0 sites.

yt-dlp - A video downloaded designed for youtube and useful for several other sites. It can be used with newsboat to stream videos in mpv without opening a web browser!

irssi - A terminal IRC client. IRC is text-only and text is powerful. I recommend adding custom commands to open media links in mpv straight from the client.

Syncthing - Like a cloud but not a cloud and more secure.

qBittorrent - A powerful modern Bittorrent client. It has an RSS feed function so you can download media, consume it offline, and not rely on web servers at all!

mpv - Objectively the best media player. Ignore dev drama.
